Jennings Motor Group has managed to raise £257,000 after making a two-year fundraising pledge to support the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Staff at the motor dealer group has engaged in a number of fundraising activities throughout 2016 and 2017 to help fund the air ambulance’s operations.
Fundraising Activities Amplified Through Annual Car Raffle
In addition to its employees taking part in fundraising efforts, the motor group also amplified these efforts by donating a new car every year for the annual car raffle hosted by the charity. This helped the charity in getting lots of participation in the raffle, which helped them meet their fundraising goals.
The staff participated in activities such as sponsored weight-loss contests, marathons, bike rides, bake-offs, coffee mornings, raffles, and more to help raise funds for the air ambulance service. Nas Khan, managing director of the motor group stated that their staff had great fun helping raise funds for the charity.
Cheque Officially Handed Over to Air Ambulance Service
Jennings Motor Group officially handed over the cheque for £257,329.33 to the charity’s deputy director of public liaison, Mandy Drake. The presentation took place at the Cargo Fleet Lane dealership, located in Middlesbrough. It was handed over by Khan along with Bev Stephenson, his PA.
According to the charity’s chief executive Grahame Pickering, their partnership with Jennings Motor Group has been the most successful corporate partnership ever. He spoke about how the funds raised by the motor group are already being put to good use to save lives and transport patients safely to hospitals.
Pickering also wished Jennings well for their future partnerships. He also expressed how the charity hopes to work with the group again in the future. The charity is preparing for their 2018 car raffle and is on the lookout to gain corporate support for the same.
